What a month of praise and excitement!
What a month of praise and excitement!
I knew my summer would be crazy, but I've (almost) made it through the business. I just want to share a few things that have taken place. On July 10th, we took a trip out of state for our son's ordination. He officially has the title 'Pastor'.
On the 16th, we were getting ready to go camping for a week. I was using the sewing machine and sewed through my finger nail. The first night of camping it kept me awake because of the pain. Thankfully the worst of the pain let up and I was able to enjoy the rest of our camping week. When we got home, the finger began to get infected. I had it checked and x-rayed. There was a quarter inch piece of the needle in my finger. I knew the needle had broken off, but I couldn't find it to see if it was all there. I went to orthopedics and they scheduled me for the following day to go to the surgery center to have it taken out. The night before that appt. I had cut the bad nail back. Later that day, the needle started pushing out of my finger. We were able to pull it out. Praise the Lord I didn't have to go to surgery!
Now we are nearing our dd's wedding day. Friday we are letting #2 go. (Bittersweet) We will miss her because she is moving out of state about 12 hours away, but we are so thankful that she has found a good Christian young man and she is so excited. Please pray that we have everything in place and that our foster daughter and grandson will not cry as our dd8 pulls them down the aisle in a wagon. An exciting day it will be!
After all this, I have to say, I have been very anxious to get started in Beyond. I am anticipating a great year! LHFHG was excellent, but now that we've had experience with HOD, I feel better equipped this year to get the most out of our school days, and have fun doing it. Looking forward to being back on 'board'.

Hi! Pam,
Congratulations! On your sons ordination! And your daughters wedding. Our oldest daughter is getting married this Saturday too! Letting go of #3 for us.
So we are both going to be mother's of the bride this weekend! Yay!
I remember chatting with you in February when our dd7 was having a struggle. She is getting ready to start Beyond this month too! She has grown so much from what we did in LHFHG last year! Dd 9 will be doing the rest of Bigger.
I always smile when I read your signature our families are so similar. Have a wonderful weekend! Can't wait to hear how this school year goes.

Yikes! I've always been afraid that would happen. (needle in finger) So glad you were able to get it out without surgery! Congratulations on the ordination and wedding! So many exciting things happening in your family!

I, too, have sewn through my fingernail.
It was *not* a pleasant experience.

What a busy and exciting summer you've had. I cringed when reading about the needle in the finger. I ended up with a needle in my shin as a child and I think the finger sounds so much more painful. I'm really glad it came out before you had to have surgery. Congratulations on your son's ordination and your daughter's wedding!

Kathy,
That is neat that you are enjoying the same thing this weekend. Probably cleaning up as I'm writing. Our wedding last evening was very nice. An evening wedding gets very late for cleanup though. We are tired. I told dd7 that when the wedding was over she could have a play day. So, I'm not starting school on Monday. She needs some time for fun, although she loved being flower girl.
We found out that our son and daughter-in-law are having another baby. I had posted a while back that they had lost twins. So far, the dr. thinks everything is okay. She is being treated with progesterone. Please pray that she can carry this one. Another exciting thing this summer.
Will probably begin Beyond this week.

I'm glad the wedding went well. I think you both deserve a day or two off after such a busy time. Congratulations to your son and daughter-in-law on expecting another baby. I hope the progesterone works well. I'll be praying.
