The moms on the board are so great with helping out aren't they! I'll just pop in to say that for older students, if your daughter hasn't had a lot of grammar instruction, it is a good idea to start with Rod and Staff English 5. If, however, your dd is coming from something very rigrorous such as ABeka grammar, you would be alright with Rod and Staff English 6.
Rod and Staff English 7 and 8 are much more focused on writing and very intensive grammar instruction, so I'd go with 5 or 6 as a good starting point. You may want to look at the samples for those two levels for more help in deciding if needed.
