I don't know how to post a link.. ...but if you go to milestone ministries website, you can see samples of each level and this might help you determine placement. I've always heard to drop back at least one grade level, maybe two.

good luck!

Definitely look at the samples to get an idea. It will really depend on how much successful formal grammar instruction she had already had (or not had).

Marsha,

The moms on the board are so great with helping out aren't they! :D I'll just pop in to say that for older students, if your daughter hasn't had a lot of grammar instruction, it is a good idea to start with Rod and Staff English 5. If, however, your dd is coming from something very rigrorous such as ABeka grammar, you would be alright with Rod and Staff English 6.

Rod and Staff English 7 and 8 are much more focused on writing and very intensive grammar instruction, so I'd go with 5 or 6 as a good starting point. You may want to look at the samples for those two levels for more help in deciding if needed.

Blessings,
Carrie

I am going to agree w/ Carrie. My first question was how much grammar has your dd had and w/ what curriculum? Then I would suggest either gr 5 or 6. I am using gr 6 now and had tried to start w/ gr 6. I have both so if you have more questions, please ask.
