Beyond and Preparing
Beyond and Preparing
I am going to be ordering both Beyond and Preparing towards the end of this month but my convention is this coming weekend. Miller Pads and Paper will be there and I'm wondering if there is anything I will need for these 2 programs. I'm already planning on purchasing 3 packs of construction paper since the 2 I bought last year are gone and I figure some of the projects will need construction paper. Is there anything else? Would the notebooks that are half lined half unlined be helpful to have? If so how many?
Thanks

HI there,
I am doing Beyond and Preparing with my kiddos this year. Here are some links to posts which have answered this question:

I personally have just used 3 ring binders with printed out lined pages and then a common place lined book for Preparing. You will also need index cards and a box to store them for each child. Off the top of my head, other things you will need are a good torch, cotton wool balls, masking tape, water colour paints, clay, food colouring, coloured paper (including black), salt, etc. As one of the above threads explains, Carrie has written it in a way that is very flexible with which items you must have around the house so use what is affordable and practical for your family and you will be fine!
Have fun!
Blessings,
Corrie

I believe she might be referring to a flashlight? (I only know that from reading The Chronicles of Narnia)SusieinMS wrote:A torch?
Re: Beyond and Preparing
Oh that would make since! I was thinking that maybe it was a typo, but a flash light would make a lot of since.
Re: Beyond and Preparing
Yes, a torch is what British and Australians call what Americans call a flashlight....sorry!

Re: Beyond and Preparing
LOL! I was thinking "Carrie's having them play with fire??". Then I noticed the poster was from Australia. I thought flash light then since I have also watched the Narnia movies.
Thanks for the post! We'll be starting Beyond next month.

Thank you for explaining that torch = flashlight. I figured it was a typo or something. Sounds like it is basically your normal school supplies.
