Storytime Question

Post by GinainMD » Fri Jul 15, 2011 8:31 pm

Hello everyone! We have had a really chaotic summer so I am still trying to wrap up Beyond with my dc but we are set to start Bigger in the fall. My question is, is it ok to use some of the storytime books from Beyond in place of the ones that are recommended in Bigger or would the storytime plans not work out right with different titles. Has anyone done this? TIA

Since the storytime for both Beyond and Bigger is genre-based, they'll work great! :D I know that looking at the overall picture, the titles chosen for Beyond are going to be a little shorter and easier to listen to for the child, and the ones for Bigger will be a little longer and higher level of listening. But, they're all GREAT choices and will work beautifully with the plans in the storytime box. I'm just now going through Beyond with Allison...Grant started HOD with Bigger. So, I haven't read all the choices yet. I know that we did choose The Apple and the Arrow as our folktale in Bigger (even though it's a Beyond choice) because my son loves everything that has to do with hunting. It was a great choice and one of our favorites that year!

Kathleen, thanks for your input. I cannot wait to start Bigger this fall. It is so hard to choose between all of the excellent storytime choices. Happy Homeschooling.
