Hi all,
Please forgive my ignorance in advance as I am new to the whole homeschooling deal

When looking over the different curricula, it would appear that we would finish all of HOD's currently offered choices by grade 6 if we do them in succession (with LHFHG for K). Am I missing something?

If you look here:
http://www.heartofdakota.com/scope.php
you will see the full scope of the HOD guides. Carrie is putting out one new guide a year. HOD will have 12 guides total. As I see it, if you use LHFHG as Kindy then you will have one year of wiggle room to work through all the guides. Sometimes for many different reasons you will have a year where you don't finish a guide. With HOD most people simply pick up with that guide again in the fall and finish it then move on to the next guide. If you do end up finishing all the guides by the end of Junior year of High School, then you have a year to pursue other interests. Maybe others will chime in here with their thoughts.

I hope not! My 8th grader is using it. On a more serious note, I do understand your question. My younger ones will finish the guides earlier. If you check out the scope and sequence you will see the guides that are yet to come.
