A new perspecitve and thank you to HOD staff!

Even though I am new to HOD, I feel I need to say THANK YOU!!!!!!! :D :D

Because-
I just worked my first 2 day HS convention. The set-up, the hours and hours of interaction with homeschool moms, dads, and kids, the packing up...wow! I never realized how much of themselves vendors give to make sure that we have the most wonderful resources available to teach our children. It is so much more than I ever imagined. I am very grateful for the experience and it helps me to value the time that HOD invests in this forum, answering emails, phone calls, etc. I learned that it is so much more than just selling a curriculum. It is meeting the needs of homeschool moms and letting God use you where you are and connecting at the heart.

I feel blessed that I was able to glimpse a bit of what it is like on the other side of the booth. Praying for rest between conventions and safe travel for Carrie and friends/family for the rest of this busy season! I know I am flat worn out! LOL!

It makes me tired just thinking about it. I know everyone at the conventions put in so much effort. I really appreciate all that Carrie and her family do! :D

Thank you, ladies! :D It is a change of pace when we do book fairs, and some of the hours can be longer, but it is so worth it. :D :) There is something very special about meeting other homeschool moms, and helping them with placement, with questions, or just being a listening ear. We truly feel this is part of the way HOD can be a ministry. It helps us to pray about it often beforehand. We pray for the Lord to send the ladies He would want for us to help, and then that He would equip us with the right words to say. This helps us be calm in the midst of the storm sometimes, as we know He is completely sovereign and in control of all that happens. We have enjoyed meeting ladies using HOD, especially the dear ladies on this board. :D It is an incredible blessing God has made it possible for us to attend the book fairs we do. We are thankful to be healthy to do this in this season of life, and we are thankful for the health of our parents, husbands, and dc. Praise be to the Lord, and may all glory be for Him and for His plan! :D

It was wonderful to briefly meet you at the convention! :D I agree that the conventions can be a bit of a workout. We enjoy the opportunity to speak to so many families that it truly blesses us so much, even though we often run out of steam once we head home! :D

Blessings,
Carrie
