?'s on Preparing and Res. to Ref

It looks like I am going to need to uncombine my boys (currently they are doing Bigger, the older with the extensions) as my older is just way ahead of his younger brother, even though age wise they are only 2 years apart. So I will need to get Res. to Ref. for my older (which is where he places on the placement chart) and then hopefully Preparing for the younger. At this point I do not think I can get both of the complete programs by fall (but you never know what the Lord may do:) ), but thought maybe I could get what I will need for the first half of the year for each. So I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me what resources will I need from each program (except for Math and English, as I already have those) for the first 16 weeks or so? I know someone already asked about what was needed from the Economy package of Res. to Ref for the first half of the year, so I have that written down, but what about the Science (I would need option 2, as he is already doing Exploring Planet Earth as extensions for Bigger) and books out of the Basic Package. I haven't found any info as to what would be used in Preparing for the first 16 or so weeks, so I'd like any info from that program (Economy, Science and even the basic and deluxe books, just to see on those).
Also if you had to just choose a few books from the Basic and Deluxe packages, what where your favorites?
