Young Patriots Series

Post by Daph » Sat Apr 09, 2011 1:34 pm

My mother-in-law and I have had discussions on what she calls, "Orange books." (They were all bound in orange.) They're biographies about people's lives and we both read them as kids and loved them. I specifically remember reading an orange book about Amelia Earheart and another on Hellen Keller. The stories stuck with me, and I still remember a lot of the details. WELL, we just discovered the the Young Patriots Series are the SAME books reprinted!!! O.O You have no idea how happy that makes me! And my daughter and I are reading one on John Audubon in Bigger this year! So, thank you, Carrie, for helping me rediscover these wonderful books! I'm so thrilled!

Daph,

Me too! :D I was thrilled to discover that these were back in print! :D Our boys have loved reading them. We have some other books in this series scheduled within our guides too. Alexander Hamilton is in the Level 3 DITHR Book Packs, and George Rogers Clark and Phillis Wheatley are in the Storytime sets for Bigger Hearts as biographies. We've enjoyed all of these! :D

The Childhood of Famous Americans series is also this same series, and of these we utilize Thomas Edison in Bigger Heart's science, Albert Einstein in Preparing Heart's science, and Henry Ford in the Rev2Rev's inventor's study. :D

Happy reading! :D

Blessings,
Carrie
