Bible quiet time for Moms and kiddos

What time of the day do you ladies schedule Bible quiet time for yourself and your kiddos. Mine are young, in Beyond and Little Hands, but I would like to go ahead and start doing a quiet time each day so that everyone gets used to doing it. I realize that they are not going to be able to do it for that long at their age and my younger one will only be able to look at the pictures in his Bible right now. Up until now, we have been doing it at bedtime. The kids will do a Bible story before bed, and then I will read mine after them. But, we are all so tired (Mom included ) at that time that I don't think we get as much as we should out of it, and sometimes it just doesn't get done . So, I was hoping to start it earlier in the day while everyone was fresh. I would like for everyone to do it at the same time. I was thinking maybe 15-30 minutes and if they got done before me they would need to be quiet doing something else until I was finished.

Anyway, just wanted to see what everyone else does with this and also how long of a time do you do for yourself and the kiddos.........

This is a great question and I'm looking forward to hearing how other families do it too.
We usually do it right after breakfast since we're (mostly) all calm and can focus for a little while.
What we do has changed as my dc have grown. When they were little I had a Bible (either a real one or a child's storybook Bible) for each of them to hold and look at while I read to them from mine.
We also sing and pray. Now my older children will read out loud and we often use a devotional too. This usually takes 15 minutes.

I have found that if *I* want to really get some "meat" from God's Word I need to be by myself. So I do it either early in the morning or at afternoon rest time.
I think in the older HOD guides there is a scheduled quiet time and I am looking forward to that phase for my children as well.

We do ours right before breakfast, but we do it right away after getting up so the boys are not up a long time before breakfast. We also have a family worship before bed, and I find twice a day works well with younger children because their attention span is low. I have to do my personal study by myself, which is hard because I am tired after they go to bed. I have not come up with a great time to do it, this is something I want to improve.

Im hoping to lead by example-if they see me do -it then they will do it.So my 'quiet' time is after school and lunch.Its nice to sit in the garden at the moment which makes my boys seem quieter .The boys can see me reading the bible and they are usually happy to play un directed at this point

I find I am not consistent for myself in the morning so I do mine in the evening. Sometimes I get a few kids in bed with me reading Bible as well. We do our Bible reading together just before HOD. I am reading through the Bible and studying with them chronologically. We do any prayers we have then as well. I find just figuring out how I personally am most consistent has really helped.

I don't have a set quiet time for Samuel yet since he's only 5. But given a choice of his books, he almost always grabs one of his story Bibles to "read" during his rest time. I personally have struggled with finding a consistent quiet time for years. I have finally found something that works for me and I love it! I make Samuel take a "rest" every afternoon for 1-2 hours. Most days it's closer to an hour, but if we've had a really bad morning I sometimes make him stay longer Anyway, he can play quietly, read, or whatever as long as he's in his room and quiet. As soon as I send him to his room, I grab my Bible study stuff and spend time with God. It is such a great break for me in the after the rush and craziness of the morning and school to just refresh myself with God. And, I find it re-energizes me for the rest of the day. I absolutely love doing it this way and very rarely don't get it done. If there's ever a day I don't get my quiet time for some reason, I really, really miss it.
