I'm getting ready to order for 3rd grade and trying to figure out if I want it all or just the student book and the test and speed drill book. Last year I only glanced at the teacher guide each day. I was just going to order the first two books and order the rest if I found I wanted it but their shipping is a minimum of $8, so I'd have to pay $8 again if I did order.
Last year checking his work was easy, I didn't need an answer key. it got me to brush up on my math skills.
What would you do?

Re: Anyone use A Beka math?
We used Abeka Math 3 last year. A friend loaned us the teacher's guide, but we did not use it enough for me to encourage you to buy it. We did not complete the full grade....math is not our strong point. We will finish this fall and then continue on to 4. Abeka 3 was a tough year for us....and we took it slow to make sure all the concepts sunk in. Good luck!

Re: Anyone use A Beka math?
We are using A Beka Math 3 this year. It is my understanding that there are exercises in the Curriculum Guide that help to "cement" things for the kiddo's. In Cathy Duffy's reviews, she stated that the reason she didn't list A Beka Math in the 100 top picks, is because a lot of parents just use the workbooks to teach it. She stated that using it this way would cause the program to be incomplete.
Hope this helps,
