family devotions--any suggestions

Post by Rachelle » Mon Aug 03, 2009 11:57 pm

I'd love thoughts about incorporating the entire family in a devotion or something similar? I guess I want daddy to be a part of all of this too and I don't know how to do it when we'll be doing a lot of bible stuff in the day. Any thoughts or experiences?

I'm doing a quick run through of LHTH and then LHFHG I think. My boys are 5.

We do a family worship at 4:30 every day. That leads into supper. Dh leads it. We say a prayer, he does a devotion, we sing a song, and then close in prayer. It's about 15-20 minutes total. Right now he's going through a set of resurrection eggs. After that he'll do Awana stories two days a week and then other lessons three days. We may or may not do family worship on weekends.

He just uses any "problems" we've been having and focuses the passage on them. A good majority (if not all) focus back to the cross because our 6yo is so close. She knows the facts but we are just waiting on the Spirit to convict her.
