Optional supplemental books for LHFHG...

Post by LeAnna » Wed Apr 08, 2009 4:59 pm

Does anyone kind of have a schedule on where each of the supplemental titles fit into each unit of LHFHG. We are finishing the book for this year, but I am trying to think ahead for my next dc down the road. :D I would like to use some of the optional books, but I would just like to know what day in each unit uses what book? Anyone use these?

Thanks,
LeAnna :D
Love my husband of 18 years this year;
Love my 3 teenagers--13, 15, and 16. They keep me young, but hanging on for dear life! :lol:
Used HOD in the earliest years with all three of them!

The books listed in the Appendix for LHFHG are just meant to go with the theme of the reading material for the week. So while it certainly isn't necessary to use those specific books, looking through the list each week will give avid library-goers a feel for what types of books would fit well topic-wise within that particular unit. Honestly, those are all books we personally own, and so I know I can recommend them without content warnings. :D

I will tell you that we used those books with my first son, and then didn't use them along with LHFHG for my next two kiddos. It works well either way!

Blessings,
Carrie
