Overlap....
How do you deal with this? I am going to be doing Bigger and DITHOR with a 10 year old (with extensions) and Beyond with a 6 year old. Some of the read alouds I will use for my younger can also be used for my older in DITHOR to read alone. I would love to do this since I already have the books and won't have to buy more...but, at the same time, I worry that my older will not be getting his first exposure to the book when he reads it on his own and he will be bored or already have all the answers from overhearing the discussions I am having with my younger about it. WWYD?

Re: Overlap....
Your older doesn't have to read it on his own. He could read it aloud to your younger, thereby satisfying DITHOR and Beyond.
You can do the genres in DITHOR in whatever order you want, so just line them up with the storytime boxes in Beyond and you're all set.

Re: Overlap....
So, in DITHOR, is he reading the stories aloud? Is that part of the requirement or just based on preference? (I admit, I have not had time to fully read through everything yet).

Re: Overlap....
My son is in DITHOR 2/3, I have him read out loud to his sister and me. I think the manual said you should listen to them read at least a portion of the reading.
