John Audobon-Bigger Hearts

Post by paliz » Thu Jan 15, 2009 9:23 am

Okay, we are on week 12 in Bigger and have been reading about John Audobon. Can I just say as a boy he was not the best behaving and had a wonderful step-mother to cover up for him? I'm just amazed at it and quite quite the laugh about it this morning.

We've just started reading about him this week...haven't gotten to where he's met the new mother yet. Can't wait to see what he gets into. Aren't the book choices in Bigger...great?

I agree! We loved John Audubon here too. His new mother was VERY patient with him! :D On a sidenote, my son has loved sketching birds ever since we read that book last year!

Blessings,
Carrie

We just finished reading John Audubon this week. We loved it, too! :D Grant's very favorite part was his gift to Cecile on her birthday... He loved his sister's response to all the creatures that John drug in, too.

Grant's said last week, "You can really learn a lot about things if you just stand still and look really close. I learned that from Jean Audubon. "

My husband has liked hearing about what Grant is learning from John Audubon, too. When he was younger...like 10...he read about john Audubon and collecting bird's eggs, and made a collection of every type of egg he could find. He put himself in some pretty daring places to collect his eggs, too.
