Read Aloud suggestions to go with LHTH?
I know there is a Bible Storytime, but I would really like to read some great classic children's books to my girls and I'm looking for suggestions. My girls are 3 1/2 and will be 2 in Feb. I was checking out the book list for Before Five in a Row. Can anyone tell me if those books would be Charlotte Mason approved and not considered "dumbed down" or "twaddle"? Thanks!

Or what about the books Ambleside online suggests for year 0.....anyone used these?
These literature based unit studies look really neat as well. What about these books:

Jennifer,
I think you are definitely on the right track and will find that you and your little ones will really enjoy the literature from the resources you mentioned. We have most of the titles from Before Five In A Row and really enjoy them. I bought the titles from BFIAR when my daughter was three and she will be five very soon. We still very much enjoy the books from that collection. Definitely not twaddle.
Another recommendation would be to look at the titles, "Honey For A Child's Heart", by Gladys Hunt and "The Read-Aloud Handbook", by Jim Trelease. I think they would give you some wonderful direction and recommendations for great literature choices for your kidlets. You can probably find them at your library as well.
Have fun!
