Our first week and prayer request

Hi all,

Well, this was our first week. A short week and I only got two full days of Bigger in with my 2nd and 4th grader. It will take some time for my ds7 to sit still for readings but he did say today, "I like school now". He always liked school IMO but I thought it was funny. It was hard to keep the tears back when we were singing Holy, Holy, Holy together. We are very excited for the new year. It cracks me up when my 11 grade dd stops her work to get in on what the youngers are doing.

On to my prayer request. Some of you may remember I mentioned about a month ago that I would be having surgery the week after school started. I can't believe it's time. I will be going in to the hospital this Monday for a total hysterectomy. Not sure until after the surgery how long I'll be there. They will start the less invasive way and if able to complete it I should be able to go home the next day. If they have to finish abdominally, I will be there for three days. I won't have my ovaries so I'll be waiting for that first hot flash LOL. Anyways, if you feel led, I would appreciate your prayers for everything to go well and a smooth recovery. Thank you.

I'm so glad to hear that your school year is getting off to a good start. I love happy school stories!! (We're getting into Bigger, and are loving it as well.)

I'll be remembering you in prayer on Monday. I pray that everything goes smoothly in surgery, and that your recovery is as quick as possible! (I think that having a baby is about the only "good" reason to be spending time in a hospital. But, I am thankful for the scientific/medical developments that make good care possible.) Let us know how you're doing when you're feeling up to it.

So glad things started well for you with Bigger. I just placed my order for the Bigger package yesterday. I can't wait for it to get here. We are going to be getting a later start on it than I wanted but doing it none the less As soon as I get the box I will be leaving for a cruise and then the beach so we will be doing the science from the Seashore book since we will be right that at the beach.

I'll be in prayer for your surgery, recovery, and adjustment period. I'll pray that they can complete the surgery without having to go in abdominally. Please keep us updated as you can.

Congrats on a great start to Bigger! My sons belt out Holy, Holy, Holy now at church too (we did Bigger... last year), and it still always makes me tear up. I pray that your surgery goes well, and that your recovery goes quickly. Be kind to yourself and don't push yourself too hard, too fast after the surgery! Rest always makes the body heal more quickly. My prayers are with you!
