Ready to honor God

Post by Candice » Thu May 08, 2008 10:24 am

So, here is the bottom line...I spend way too much time on the computer and a change needs to take place!
It has been known to me for some time that the computer time is starting to interfere with more important matters in my life. I feel that God has been patiently waiting for me to make some changes (other than computer as well) so that I can discover where He wants me to be. First He nudged, then tapped, then looked me square in the face. I still did not obey. Now I feel separated from Him and wish to begin to honor Him.

So, there you have it, a rather long-winded way to say that I will be taking a much needed break from the computer for some time. I guess I felt the need to explain as I feel like HOD is sort of a family to me! I will allow myself time to check email but, no cruising the forums! I will be back again but, not on my terms, on His!

Looking forward to obeying Him!

Candice :D

Candice,

I'm sorry to see you go...but I completely understand the need to 'take a break' from the computer. It's very easy to get caught up in reading everything and trying to help others, yet neglect things at home that need to be attended to! I know God will bless you during this time, as it is always BEST to obey Him. We will miss you, because HOD is like a family.

Now, I have to go clean my house!

We will lok forward to your return when the timing is right.

Candice, I totally understand as I went through this exact same conviction!! I set a timer on my computer time and I only go to this site....HOD. I don't do any more yahoo groups and that really cuts down the e-mail. I also don't blog or anything else. I spend a max of 20 mins (divided into chunks) on the computer now!! Part of the reason I can cut back so much, is the peace I have now in my curriculum....there's no need to search! 8)

I don't want you to go, but I do understand! I will miss you my friend, and look forward to your return!!

Candice,

I know I can share in your conviction to honor the Lord and to be careful with balancing computer time with time for Him! I applaud you for heeding His call. We'll miss you so much and will look forward to your return.

Melanie gave some wonderful advice on how she handles her computer time. I think all of us need limits and her ideas are wonderful. :D

Blessings,
Carrie
