New - Need Placement Help

Post by HSMom03 » Sun May 05, 2013 6:26 pm

Hi All! I was about to order Little Hearts for DS1 to start in the fall (he'll be 5-3/4, grade K) and then I wondered if I should be waiting until him and his brother are 7 and 5 before starting it. Eventually I'll be running 3 guides at once and just wondered what you all suggest. Should I be trying to combine? Thanks! We are very excited to start using HOD :).

Combining children depends on the child and family situation.
A lot of it depends on where your children are at skill wise, and what you believe you can do.
I personally don't find it hard to do 3 guides although since my younger two are less than 2 years apart I could have waited and combined. Skill level they are FAR apart. My Kindergartner is advanced, and my 4yo on the middle road.
Sorry, I can't be more help; at this young age it is harder to tell where they are.

That is hard to say. If your older ds is ready now, I would probably go ahead and get him started. Often times the oldest is the one ready to soar so you can get him started then in a couple of years perhaps combine your other two. It's hard to foresee what the future holds so I would just base your decision on where everyone is at the moment and go from there. If you are on the fence though as to whether he is ready then I would probably just try doing LHTH with both of them this year and see where they both fall next year. HTH! :D
