"Igniting your writing"?

Post by Starla » Fri Mar 08, 2013 10:54 pm

Am wondering about the book "Igniting your Writing" which is put as an option with the DITHOR pack. Is this scheduled anywhere in the guides to use anywhere? I'm planning on using CTC with my ds this fall. He is a struggling writer. I don't know if he's ready yet for Write with the Best, although it does look very step by step instruction and so it may work just fine for him.

Since HOD also recommends "Igniting your Writing" am also wondering if that may be a good substitute for "Write with the Best". "The Paragraph Book" has also been suggested to me. Any thoughts about which writing program would be best for a boy who struggles with writing? Have any of you had experiences with your kiddos where "Write with the Best" may have been a rocky road at first, but then they caught on? Thanks!

I can't answer the other questions, but my oldest used IYW. It worked well for him. It gave him the skills, practice and confidence to be a better writer.
