DITHOR 2/3 Book Pack and/or Deluxe Package

Post by Natreez » Thu May 22, 2008 11:18 pm

Well ladies... I thought I had it all figured out but I'm still very confused!

:? My son will be 3rd grade and is definitely beyond the emergent readers. My thoughts were that we would do DITHOR 2/3 so I would need to order the 2/3 DITHOR book pack which my son would read either aloud or independently. Then I would ALSO need to order the Deluxe Package with a choice of the Classic or Boy Interest which I would read aloud to him each day. Am I understanding this correctly or if you do DITHOR does that mean he reads the 2/3 DITHOR book pack to me and I do not read aloud to him?? In which case, I wouldn't need to order the Deluxe Package Classic or Boy interest set?? Please help me understand this. Thank you ladies!!

I can't help you at all, but I will be watching this with interest as I am confused by all of this as well.

Yes.....the 2/3 Drawn pack is for him to read to you and do the Drawn activities with. The book packs (classic, boy or girl) are for the storytime box....you read to him.

Clear as mud??

You'll get the hang of it. Look on the website at the sample week of the program and you'll see where each is used.

I asked this same question when I was trying to figure things out. Here are the answers I got. http://www.heartofdakota.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=411

I am so excited about our storytime books! They look great! We got the Boy Interest Pack...subbing just a couple of them. This is my son's 1st year with HOD, so we're doing the Apple and the Arrow because he is so into learning to bow hunt like his dad. And we had already read Snow Treasure this winter. We LOVED that story, but had to pick a new adventure for this year.

I also ordered a book pack for DITHOR...I thought it would be easier to have Carrie decide how long to read each book for while I get a feel for the program our 1st time through.

HTH!
