World Wars and Bigger Hearts

Post by daybreaking » Thu Sep 27, 2012 7:55 pm

I just realized that the Bigger guide does not cover World War I or II, except through an optional extension book reading. I'm sure there is a very well-thought-out reason for this, but in perusing the board, I haven't been able to find any posts relating to the issue. I do know they are covered in future guides, but it would be helpful for me if I understood the background philosophy for why the World Wars are skipped in Bigger. Thank you! :)

I think the reason is that those wars were so complex and violent that is beyond the maturity level of the dc for which Bigger is intended. It's been a while and I wish I could link you to the post, but I believe that Carrie mentioned once that she felt it was a subject better left until dc are older and more mature. In Preparing it is touched on briefly but again not covered in any detail. I think MTMM is when it will be covered thoroughly. :D

Thank you for your reply; it was helpful. :)

I did some more perusing today and found a link to a similar post, with a thorough answer from Carrie.

That's a great post that gives great details of the how and why. I'm still not great at finding past posts. I'm glad you were able to find it. :D
