HOD has blessed our homeschool!

Post by snadig » Fri Sep 07, 2012 10:49 pm

We just finished week 5 of our 3 guides. We love what we are doing, it has been a answer to pray.

My ds loves all his books and never wants me to stop reading. He is growing with his writing, even on the days he doesn't want to copy we work on remembering our bible verse Gal 6:9.

Preparing is great! My daughter is being stretched, but not to much and is really raising to the challenge. Love the books and the way it is all connected to God.

Rev to Rev is really good so much good stuff there, my daughter is learning a lot, and is loving taking charge of her day. I love how I can check in with her and she can tell me all she has read and learned. We love the science and the history projects.

We are also loving DITHOR. This is teaching them to slow down and see the reading differently, instead of speeding thur the book. This is challenging them but in a good way.

We are so thankful for HOD. Now we are taking a short vacation, but are excited to get back to our books!

I felt this way after starting HOD two years ago, and still feel that way. Such a blessing! :D

How wonderful! It sounds like you have found the right placement for your dc and everyone is thriving. HOD surely blesses us here too. I don't know how I would manage to homeschool without it, and I'm thankful for the joy it brings to our days. Thanks for sharing such a positive, uplifting post! :D

Stacy - I share your same sentiments! We came to HOD this year after using a different curriculum for 4 years and we couldn't be more pleased. I am constantly giving thanks for Carrie's willingness to create this curriculum. :)

Stacey - thank you so much for being inspirational with your words here! :D I really love to come to the board and share with one another like this. I have found reading posts such as yours fills my cup and gives me steam to keep on keepin' on with our homeschooling each day. It is a little shot of encouragement for me. :D So many other things can have a "bring me down" kind of feeling for me, and I have found that to be a drain on my outlook for homeschooling, and for my life in general. I have tried to avoid places/people such as that. A huge blessing is for me to come here to the board to be encouraged by ladies like you - I've found a little haven for me here thanks to posts like this. My Dad begins the long road of chemo this week, my dh is gone overnight for business this entire week, and I sure needed this 'sunshine' today. Thank you so much, and may God continue to richly bless your homeschooling as you are faithful looking for His hand in it! Enjoy your time off, and then your coming back to homeschooling with joy - God bless!!! :D :D :D
