Phonics Review in 2/3 DITHOR?

I am in BHFHG with my 7 year old this year. We have started DITHOR this year as well. On Days 2, 7 & 12, our assignment is to review phonics or complete a vocab. assignment. I need some guidance as to what a phonics review looks like. Is there a book? Is it just going back to easier books and reading those? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

We are doing a Explode the Code book. I think you can do whatever you want!

Phonics review and vocabulary work are noted as optional in DITHOR. If you feel your child needs to review phonics to solidify some skills, I agree with Robbi that "Explode the Code" is an inexpensive, easy, fun, and effective way to go about reviewing phonics. However, if your child has completed a phonics program and is reading Level 2 Book Pack books (or their equivalency) well, review is not needed. As far as vocabulary work, I did not do it with my dc because at the time they were doing BHFHG, and then PHFHG, which had vocabulary activities that were in-depth and excellent every week within the daily plans for history. HTH!
