Great time working on Rev to Rev Unit 5 this week. We fell a little behind - not completing all of day 4, but expect to catch up next week. I am so thankful for how diligently and joyfully my ds is completing school this year. He loves the Inventor Study & is currently reading Michael Faraday. He told me today, "Mom, I can't wait to finish this book so that I can read it again."

Oh yes, they loved the blubber activity. The shortening didn't come all the way off right away either, so then they got to enjoy smooth, moisturized skin.

My heart felt confessions of a bad week but it is getting better, we did complete this week on an upswing.
I also figured out how to put a Movie clip on my blog

Re: Week in Review September 3rd-7th
Rose Academy has completed unit 4 of all three guides that we are doing this year. Beyond and Bigger are being completed in 4 days instead of 5--I just shift a box or two from day 5 into each of the other days.
My 7yo son is doing Beyond and loves the short and sweet lessons. Since he adores science I have added Elemental Science earth science and astronomy which we do with his friend down the street who also is homeschooled. This short schedule also allows him ample time to work with his Snap Circuits which is a HUGE hit with him!
9 and 10 yo daughters are doing bigger with what extensions we own plus the addition of a couple time travelers from homeschool in the woods--new world explorers and colonial life. If we finish those then we will work through the next one.I have found that these add just the right amount of hands on stuff and fun for them to help cement what we are learning in history.
12yo daughter is working through RTR with a few extensions of my choosing. She is doing great with all that independent work and I think she secretly enjoys this level of independence and the ability to choose what she completes and when! She is also doing the Passport middle Ages from homeschool in the woods and it adds just enough hands in that it balances out the reading nicely for my hands in artsy crafty girl!
Along with all that I teach writing and art classes out of my home on Fridays, so all 4 participate in that as well, which is why we try to complete everything in 4 days. I love that HOD allows us the flexibility to add these fun things and still finish school by 1:00 each day so I can go to work!

Hi Ladies,
It's been a long time since I posted in the "Week in Review". I'm trying to blog again so here is our first week: http://homeschoolblogger.com/pazzaacademy/766560/
Hopefully, I copied that correctly. I'm not much on all the techie blog stuff which is really funny to me since I used to be a programmer I'll try to add pictures next week.
I loved reading all the updates!
