Guide coming apart

Post by MomtoJGJE » Mon Aug 13, 2012 12:31 am

We have a tiny little issue. Nothing overly concerning, but I'd like to find out how to fix it.

The cover is coming off of our Preparing guide. All the other guides so far are still fine, bent up and used, but not coming apart. So I"m guessing I must have gotten one that the glue just didn't set right or something.

Is there any certain type of glue I can use that will work best to keep it on? I'm guessing just regular glue wouldn't allow it to lay flat like it's supposed to. And since it needs to get through four more kiddos after this one, I want it to work right :)

Sorry, no solution to gluing...but here is what I do with my guides. I go to Staples and have the binding cut off (Staples or any office supply store will do it) and then I bring the book home and sit on the floor with a Costco size box of protectors and slip each guide page into a protector. It's no small task. :| It is VERY tedious, but it sure does extend the life of the guide! Then I can use a dry erase marker as needed and wipe clean. You might want to consider it being that you have much use ahead of you.

Well, I don't write in the guides unless there is a mistake. And since Beyond has lasted 4 years with no issues I don't think that's a problem. I like the lay flat binding and the size of the guide.

I use the guides as is too. I am surprised that your guide came undone. I've had no problem with any of mine. I'm not sure what to use it on it. Libraries have to repair books sometimes, maybe ask your librarian?

If you purchased from HOD, give Mike a call. He will be glad to help you out if this is normal wear and tear a guide should be able to take (which it sounds like it is). :D Mike provides excellent customer service for his HOD customers. :D

I should have updated.

I realized it totally wasn't a normal problem so I did email. Evidently they had a batch that the glue didn't stick on, so they (Mike and Carrie) are taking care of it for me :)
