Excellent idea! I'll do that before my list reaches the point of falling apart! :D

I understand your point but I just don't have a whole of extra to spend on a reading list. As is, I am having to shift around the budget to accomodate our decision to homeschool my son. We were already budgeted to the penny and I feel like I am being nickeled and dimed trying to cut groceries (we actually have to put a limit on #cups of milk consumed a day now that it is $4 a gallon) and haircuts (everyone skipped a month just to buy DITHOR in the first place) back enough to supply him with just the basics.

AuntPol - I know how difficult it can be to be "tight" on your budget...but I'm always amazed at how God provides exactly what we need when we need it! (You'll have to read the ant story here...http://www.heartofdakota.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=1183 ) God can provide ants...pennies...thousands of dollars...friends...strength....oh we could go on and on. He knows exactly what you need and will take care of you when you live in obedience to Him. Booklist or not, I think it's really encouraging to see you living by faith and homeschooling your son when it does make things less convenient for your family. Don't give up!

One idea I have is that you could use the titiles in the DITHOR book packs and see which ones you could find at the library. (I guess I don't know what reading levels your kids are...) You could browse the book shop...http://www.heartofdakota.com/book-shop.php... Scroll down and it has all the books that are used in Beyond and Bigger for read-alouds and the 2 DITHOR book packs listed. Their reading levels are given as well as being divided by genre. Sooo, if you're not going to be using those with your kiddos, you could sure try to find them at the library if you wanted to go with Carrie's suggestions for good books. This may at least get you through this year. :D Then next year you may be in a different place financially when you're placing your order and can include the list in your order.

Hope that helps some!
