just a little more help please :-)

Post by mom2elie05 » Tue Aug 07, 2012 1:42 am

Ok so I've decided on beyond little hearts for my 7 year old but I need to know what box set to order what does the emerging readers mean? Girl set? Classic set? How do I choose? Any help is greatly appreciated! I'm so nervous but am feeling a bit more confident in being able to do this. So thank you all!

Emerging readers means they are past basic phonics but still need reinforcement in reading and reading comprehension. Even if they seam easy this is a good step NOT to skip. My daughter was reading on a much higher level, but just having this set to solidify was huge for her.

The Sets (boys, classic, and girls) are books for reading aloud for the read aloud box. This is a separate set of books.

You'll be fine :) Beyond was a lot of fun for us last year!

Hope that helped!

Great help already - I'll just add if you are trying to decide between the girl or classic set for the Storytime Read-aloud plans, you are going to have a tough time! They are all good. I will say that the girl set, in general, has shorter reading segments (other than "Ginger Pye"), and the classic set has longer readings with more of an "old style sounding" feel to it. Our dc loved that, but if you have not read a lot of this style of living books, there can be a bit of adjustment. If you can't decide, you could get both! We have all boys and got all 3 sets eventually, even the girl set, as they are just awesome books. HTH! :D
