All jazzed to start today and then . . .

we found out late last week that my eldest daughter advanced to the semi-final round of our County Fair Talent Competition. She will be performing tomorrow evening. So, instead of beginning our HOD adventure today, we are waiting to see if she makes it to the finals on Saturday. If she doesn't move on, we will begin on Thursday. But if she makes it to finals we will begin next Monday instead. But we're all excited (okay most of us are excited) to be back to school and starting our first year with HOD. Please pray that my DD's nerves would be calm. She is singing "I Can Only Imagine" and our prayer is that even if she doesn't move on in the competition that hearts would be touched with the message of the song.

How exciting! I wish your daughter well. We were trying to decide when to start when I realized many of my sons' tennis friends will not go back to school until the 20th. If we start the 13th, I will not be in good favor if the boys have to say no to tennis matches. I am thinking about math and English next week, but waiting to start the HOD guide until the 20th. That will give me more time to clean as well. We have so many fun choices that it is hard to settle back into school.
