Do you want to hear what God did for me?

Post by MommyInTraining » Sat May 17, 2008 6:03 am

We were reading a library book today about ants for science time. It talked about how the Queen ant has wings and flies until she mates. Then the male soon dies and the female (Queen ant) finds a place to lay her eggs and then gets rid of her wings.

I have been feeling bad lately that I can't get out more with the children to do field trips, etc. The more children, the harder it seems to get out of the house. I worry that the children are bored and I desire to go on more outings with them (museums, parks, etc.), but it just doesn't seem feasible.

Well, later today when the children were outside they said they saw flying ants. I went out to look, and sure enough, it was just like the picture in the book we had read earlier. A giant black ant with long wings. I don't know how many were out there, but one of them even landed on my shirt (poor Teddy, as I was holding him while I was screaming about it). Not only that, but the children got to see them losing their wings!

To me, this was a message from God. It is what I like to call a "Godincident". It was just too perfect that they would see this right after we read about it in the morning. It had to be from Him. And, I believe, it was to assure me that they can see things and have exposure to educational elements right in their own yard. That I don't need to worry that they are home so much, but that it is just where they need to be!

Thanks for listening :D

That's awesome! We have lots of ants in our house lately so my kids get to see the ants with wings and without wings up close and personal.

That is such a great story! :D I bet we all have "Godincidents" more often than we actually are aware enough to notice. This was a good reminder for me. I'm too much of a Olive and don't "stop to smell the roses" often enough.

We had a small swarm of what I thought were flying ants once coming out of our flower bed.....turned out to be a small swarm of termites living in our flower bed. Apparently they swarm out every spring with wings and they look like black ants....what a nightmare that was! I caught some in a jar b/c I thought they were cool.....my dh was not so impressed.

This was really cool to read! I know I shouldn't be amazed every time something like this happens (or things "fall into place") because that's how God works, but I'm always still amazed. Thanks for sharing.

This brought happy tears to my eyes! I LOVE IT! I love when I have my spiritual eyes open and recognize these moments. Not nearly enough do I notice when God is trying to show me His provision in these simple but meaningful ways. Thank you for sharing that, it blesses me! :D

I get so excited when God does this for us, or others! It just helps to re-affirm my faith; that He does care about the details. I'm so glad He provided for your kids what you felt you could not provide for them yourself. He hears and answers our prayers, doesn't He?! :)
