Just curious about if anyone does a 4 day school week instead of 5...how do you do it? Do you double up on some things throughout the week, or do you just pick up where you left off the next week?
I'm actually thinking that we'll start Bigger Hearts at half speed in July, but once we are well adjusted, I'd like to go to a 4 day week (at least during coop weeks).
Thanks!

If you use Bigger four days a week you add 9 weeks to the guide. To each his own how you handle the schedule but I would add 9 weeks rather than rush it or double up. Carrie balances the workload nicely from day to day.

I agree with pp. No, our Day 1 wasn't on a Monday usually, but it never really bothered us. I just called them "units" instead of "weeks". It worked fine.

We have now used all the guides!
We try to do a couple of units over the summer, then start a couple of weeks early in the fall, we do 4 day weeks when we have bible study and on weeks we don't have bible study (near the holidays) we do five day weeks. Sometimes we go over a bit in the early summer too but not always.

I do a 4 day week with all the work in one week complete at the end. I preview the week and add one or two extra things each day. For instance we do 3 days of Bible memory work (Mon-Wed) and then add the Bible for history on Friday to Thursday. I also save the art project for Friday and we may have a subject or two to finish, but I try to keep it lighter. It has worked well for us.

I have to do a four-day week certain times of the year due to my work schedule and I do not double up. In the earlier guides it would be doable, but we are in Bigger now and I can't see adding anything.

Thank you so much everyone...this is exactly the practical help I was looking for. I'm sure it will work itself out, and I'll know better how we can schedule for those weeks once we have a few weeks under our belt. We are excited to join HOD!

I'm glad the info has been helpful to you.
We also do school 4 days a week and have no problems keeping up.
Some weeks we add one or two things to each day & complete the unit in a week.
Other times we make up the work on a 'catch-up' or bored day.
We also do school 2 days a week during the summer.
It works different for each family, but it's very doable!
