I can't decide which book pack I want for Beyond...

Post by intotheirhearts » Thu May 31, 2012 7:01 pm

I can't decide! Boy book pack or Classic book pack for read alouds in Beyond?? Great books in both! Just too hard to decide! I will likely buy the girl pack when my daughter is in Beyond (she is just 3 right now) but for my 6 year old son I am not sure whether to go with boy pack or classic pack.

Any thoughts?

We had a son and daughter combined in Beyond so I did a combination and it worked great. Remember, you can substitute two books in the Deluxe package for any two other books from one of the other packages...that way you still get the package discount. If you haven't read any of the Classic set, there are just some that are too good to miss (Charlotte's Web, Little House, The House at Pooh Corner)! We also enjoyed Sarah Whitcher's Story, The Key to the Treasure and Mr. Popper's Penguins. Hope that helps!

If you can, buy the boy and classic. Pick which ones you want to do for the guide and then read the others during other reading times. They are all so good.:). Then you can buy the girl pack for your daughter when it's time. :)

I checked which ones my library had and pretty much bought all the rest. Except I did make sure I had purchased one from each genre so I had one and didn't have to mess with library for that. Depending how it works out, you may not buy a "pack" but it doesn't save you all that much and then you have all the books you want!!

My son LOVED Farmer Boy! I had to read it to him again over the summer.

My 4 yr old DS listened to Little House in the Big Woods with us. He did very well, so much that we even read the next couple books. :)

With my first son, I did the boy book pack and it was WONDERFUL! With my 2nd son, I am doing a combination of all 3 of the book packs. They are all fantastic books! Can't go wrong!
