I am planning to start my oldest two in BLHFHG soon but want to stretch it out so that we hit the next guide when they are a little older. I have read of people doing 4-day schedules and really liking it. Here is my question...
Does the fifth day where the bible story ties in with the history seem disjointed if it is not done for the next three days? (ex day 4 on Thur and day 5 on Mon) Maybe it is just me wanting to have the unit line up nicely in a week. What are your thoughts/experiences with this?
Blessings,
April
BLHFHG 4-Day Question
Re: BLHFHG 4-Day Question
Oh my goodness, April, I probably haven't completed a unit between Monday and Friday since LHFHG! Let me assure you--it's fine! I just do a quick review before the Bible lesson, using the key ideas at the bottom of the boxes to see how much my son remembers. Guess what? He always remembers more than I do!

Re: BLHFHG 4-Day Question
I agree with creekmama. I am not on a 4-day schedule, but I do not regularly get 5 days done from Mon. to Fri. When we don't have co-op, field trips, appts. etc., I just do a day. Sometimes there may be three day weekend gaps, but we just pick up where we left off. As far as the history, dd loved it in Beyond, so she would not forget too quickly. Sometimes I may just say, "Do you remember the story we read in history about..........?" They do remember more than we think. So, just enjoy Beyond, and don't worry about what days of the week it gets done.
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. III John 4

Re: BLHFHG 4-Day Question
Ok, thanks ladies! Obviously I was not living in reality here we most likely don't get the units done in five days now.
