Should I Wait or Start?

Post by glperky » Tue Apr 24, 2012 7:40 pm

This fall I was planning on starting my little guys off on LHFHG, however, after reading many post here I want to go ahead and start and just plan on 4 days a week and stretch it out a little. I have everything I need except for the 1st grade Thinking Skills book and I can’t order it until our tax return comes in. So, should I wait until I have it or just go ahead and get started? I don't know enough about HOD or the book to be able to decide. Thanks for your help, again!

I don't feel like the Thinking Skills book is that crucial to the program as a whole that I would hold off on starting until I had it. I think it would work to just start right now, and then catch up on Thinking Skills when you get it. The pages don't correspond with the other subjects or anything like that. Maybe you could even do a couple of pages on Fridays when you get it in order to catch up more quickly. Start now, while you have the excitement for it :)

Thanks mom23. I am wanting some "fun" stuff to do on day five, so that's a great idea on getting caught up on our day off. Thanks!

I would seriously just go ahead. Your little one can catch up with it when they want.

My youngest is doing the workbooks as she wants. She will sit and do a ton of pages in them and then not again for a few days. I don't plan to actually start being consistent with Little Hearts until this fall. If she finishes all the workbooks by fall I'll just order grade 1 books and go from there.

Enjoy!

Dive in and enjoy! :D Why hold off when you're raring to go, and why not give yourself some wiggle room with days off later?!? Have fun with your start to LHFHG! It truly is a joy to teach!
