When to Read Phyllis Wheatly
My kids are studying the Civil War now in Bigger. I have put off reading the bio of Phyllis Wheatly because they knew nothing about slavery. Now that they have been introduced to it, would this be a good time to introduce them to her?

Re: When to Read Phyllis Wheatly
If you look at the girl pack for Bigger's Storytime, you'll see that "Phillis Wheatley" is actually the recommended biography book to be used for units 1-4, so I think it'd fit perfectly for you right now.

We read Audobon during that (not knowing it would be covered later)
So, I think we will do Wheatly now while talking about the Civil War.
Thanks!!
