In preparing to build: English 2 workbook, do you need to buy the teachers manual for $18.95? How helpful is it? Or can you just do the workbook without it the TM?

Re: Question on Preparing to build English 2
It's not really a workbook - it's a "hard-back pupil text" that I don't think is intended to be written in (though I think some families do). We use a separate notebook to write answers (we only do 1/3 of work written and the rest orally, as is suggested in the guide). I haven't seen the teacher's manual, but we are using the pupil text alone and it is perfectly sufficient by itself. HTH

Re: Question on Preparing to build English 2
I am currently using the Rod and Staff English 2 books with my 7 year old son.
We have both the student book and the teachers book. Like farmfamily said it is a hard back book, not a workbook. We do most of it orally and only about 1/3 of it written.
At this point the teachers book is not a must. It does have the answers to each lesson and it also has ideas to help with the teaching part. It also gives examples to use or review questions to use before starting the next lesson.
You could go either way. The next level English 3 is where it might be more important to start getting the teachers book.
My daughter is using the English 5 and we have needed the teachers book with most of it. But I think for level 2 you would be ok with or without the guide.
Good luck!
