What Genre.........

Post by Homeschooling6 » Sat May 03, 2008 6:04 pm

The Paint Brush Kid by Clyde Robert Bulla who is the author of The Chalk Box Kid.

Jake Drake by Andrew Clements.

Can anyone help me figure out what genre these would fit in?

Thank you,
Linda

Scholastic files Paint Brush Kid under General Fiction, Multicultural, Series
Amazon files it under Fiction/Art/Friendships

The Jake Drake books are "General Fiction" at Scholastic, and Fiction/Early Reader/Chapter books at Amazon.

Homeschooling6,

If you were wondering for purposes of matching those to a genre category in Drawn into the Heart of Reading, then the Paint Brush and Chalk Box Kid by Bulla are realistic fiction. Jake Drake would be realistic fiction as well. Books by Clements can also often be under the humor category. But, I'm not sure Jake Drake would be. :D

Blessings,
Carrie
