Poll of sorts - age/"grade level" for LHFHG
I used it for both of my sons' K year. We started a bit on the early side, at 4 1/2 yo, and finished with my oldest in a year, and my second son in 1 1/2 years - so he'll be 6 yo starting Beyond... We used the younger fine motor workbooks and math selections with both of them.

Thanks ladies! That helps. This coming fall will be our pre-K year so we're still a year and a half out from K, but ds is a December birthday (will be 5 in 2008) and also ahead in some spots - especially reading - so I'm thinking we're going to end up in LHFHG for K, but with a lot of the 1st grade material. Kind of like K-and-a-half. (Which brings up another question in my mind, but I should probably just make that another post. )

I'll be starting LHFHG this coming fall with my (then) just turned 5 year old dd. I did MFW K with her this year, but I'm intending on Little Hearts being an official "K" year for her.

Commenting about your "k-and-a-half year" comment.....my kids are always off....we usually finish our school year in March, and start again around this time. I like to take a break for Easter, and somehow we often end up starting our new curric in the spring and going strong for a couple months, then doing it lightly in the summer, and then finishing up in March. So, I guess we take our freedom around here and just start the cycle as we see fit. It works for us. I don't really worry about keeping the schedule as the PS does.

I will be using Little Hearts... for what will be considered 'first grade' for my ds, who will be six then. We're slowly going through LHTH now, and into the fall for his 'Kindergarten' year.
