Adding books from previous guides

Post by leeannpal » Sat Feb 11, 2012 9:42 pm

My daughter and I are really getting excited about using HOD next year. What we are still undecided about is using Bigger w/extensions or Preparing. Even if we do go with Preparing, there are a few books in Bigger that I would love to incorporate in some way. The hymns book looks wonderful, and I've already got a couple of the suggested historical fiction books from Bigger. If you've done this, how did you add the books/materials?

We feel this way about all of the extension books and any Storytime packages we didn't get to use, as there are sometimes 3 choices. Likewise, we didn't want to miss the other BIble choice we didn't use. For the books dc can enjoy reading on their own, we put them in a book basket in their rooms to read at their leisure. For the books and/or Bibles we want to do together, we read them one story at a time at night during the school year, or in the summer at the start of our days. For the music, we play it as we do our morning chores and set the breakfast table. HTH! :D

I use the book basket idea also and another thing I am doing this year is he is reading some of them for DITHOR. I gave him choices for each genre and some of the ones he picked were books that he missed in earlier guides.
