Completely in love with LHFHG!!!!

We just started this week, and I am already LOVING this program! I can already tell a different in my previously resistant ds6. He used to have the worst attitude about doing school, and I can tell this is cracking his shell! My dd4, OF COURSE, loves it too! She begs for me to do school with her. We are waiting on LHTH for her, although she could probably do LHFHG. Anyway....the songs/rhymes at the end are just SO MUCH FUN for them and the games that help with the Scripture memorization are wonderful! My kids had the verse memorized in no time flat and I LOVE THAT! This is exactly what my homeschooling was missing....a little creativity and hands-on stuff (which I am not good at thinking of on my own).

Carrie, what a WONDERFUL gift you have given us. I am so thankful that God led me to HOD. I know it was His leading, since I had been praying and praying for something!!! I can hardly wait to do RTR with my son in the fall! It makes me just want to start now!!!!!

That is awesome to hear! HOD really helps me get to my dc's hearts - I will be forever grateful for that aspect of it especially. And hands-on - I am soooooo with ya there - NOT my thing, but something my sons need so much. HOD does hands-on so well. I'm glad you are enjoying LHFHG! May God continue to bless your homeschooling. Oh lovely to hear. Our LHFHG arrived in the post yesterday, but of course I have been unwell most of this week and yesterday was by far my worst day so the excitement is being held in check. Hoping to be feeling better tomorrow and get it out and ready to start on Monday. DS is so excited to have his own school, and just reading through and talking to DH about it last night, made me realise how perfect it is going to be for building skills that DS is lacking mainly due to his speech issues.

We are really enjoying our time this year with LHFHG. I feel so blessed to have found this great curriculum! It is really giving him a gentle introduction to history and he is growing in his listening skills so much. At the start of the year he couldn't follow the Burgess books. Now he really likes them and gets most if the questions right.
