Looking for a Bible for K-1st grade level readers

I have been looking for a Bible that my K/1st grade reader could start reading on her own. Something very simple of course... She can read all 3 letter words and many 4 and 5 letter words. Her phonics is getting better every day!

"My Father's World" curriculum for 1st grade has an easy to read Bible, but I don't think you can purchase it separately from their packages.

I would love to hear from you, getting your ideas and testimonies. Thanks bunches!

I am pretty sure if you call the MFW office, they would sell the Bible reader separately.

I think you can purchase the MFW 1st grade Bible reader alone. If it's not on their site, you can call them directly and order (I believe this is correct, but may have changed).

The easiest one I've seen is the one that Carrie recommends in her emerging reader package..The Early Reader's Bible...but there may be a simpler one out there.

We have some of the Rocket Readers from FaithKidz (RocketReaders.com) and they are very simple little Bible stories. I know there are some other companies out there that make simple little Bible Stories...archer books maybe??

You can purchase the MFW Bible reader separately. I purchased it through Rainbow Resources. It lines up almost perfectly with LHFHG. There are about 2 or 3 stories that don't fit with HOD.

You may want to give the Early Reader's Bible a try. It was the one we used when my kiddos were reading at the level you described. It has a controlled vocabulary and word list for new readers. Any new words are listed in the top right hand corner before you read the story. The pictures are full color and the little questions after each 4 page story (with 2 pages of pictures and 2 pages of text) really bring home the meaning.

Then, later, when you start the Emerging Reader's schedule, you can just choose "The Beginner's Bible" instead. That is the way we did it.

My son read "The Early Reader's Bible" in the mornings for his devotions/Bible time, and then we used the "Beginner's Bible" with the Emerging Reader Set. It worked out great (and both Bibles are excellent, so we didn't want to miss out on any)!
