I am sitting here at 4.10pm on Thursday afternoon and feeling great that we have had such a full week of learning and that the girls have managed to do narrations, grammar, math, geography, history, science, drawing and a project, not to mention all the other things as well. I am so looking forward to the rest of the year with Preparing and my youngest DD. I am definately now of the opinion that DD1 definately needs to be in RtR and working at her own level. But the most important thing is we have had some great discussions, quite a number of laughs and a peaceful home (well most of the time).
I look forward to DS1's LHFHG arriving and being able to do fun things with him too. It has been a joy.
Well, we have finished our first week of HOD!!!!

We are going to move her to RtR mid year when we can afford to get it for her. We have really stretched to get what we have gotten at the moment.

HOORAY!
I am celebrating with you today, Molly!
It truly is amazing to consider all that gets done within HOD in a week, and yet in such a manageable amount of time. HOD's plan of rotating skills and using a CM style short lesson format lets us enjoy such variety in our week. CM also advocated alternating "Inspirational" and "Disciplinary" subjects (I'll link this post Carrie did in regard to this, as it's such a good one)...

It seems in upper level curriculums, the "Inspirational" subjects are the first to be dropped.
I would be so very sad about this, as the inspirational subjects help my dc do even better on the disciplinary subjects because they've been... well, inspired.
I am so thankful HOD has figured out how to rotate subjects, both inspirational and disciplinary, so our days are balanced. I loved this part of your post especially...
These ARE incredibly important things to have in our day. We enjoy these benefits with HOD in our home as well!
Finally, I loved this simple statement in your post...
When I am joyful, I can help others be joyful.
Thanks for finding joy and sharing it here with me - and with others - today!
In Christ,
Julie

Do you know what I have found as I am getting older? When I look for joy in my homeschooling - or in any part of my life - I find it.Molly wrote:It has been a joy.

Thank you for sharing your joy! It is contagious.
