Just Finished Bigger

Post by MomtoJGJE » Fri Jan 13, 2012 11:59 am

We finished Bigger today and put it away until Grace needs it. We got all the Preparing stuff out that wouldn't fit in our little "extras" box, which ended up being basically what we need for the first 10 weeks. Got her binder all fixed up, paper for math, and everything. We are both very excited!

We started Preparing Monday and have gone half speed each day. I like the way it's going at half speed, so we'll probably keep it that way... kind of :) I talked with DH today, and together we came up with an idea that I think will work great right now. Jayden would technically be mid 3rd grade right now, starting 4th in August. We school year round. So we have no need to get done with Preparing in 34 weeks... or less considering that we'd be schooling 5 days a week a lot of times. So we decided that we were going to average 3 days per week for now. Until Jayden shows us she needs to do a full day every day. Basically 4 days a week we'll go half speed, but one day we'll go full speed. Probably on Friday after we've had the whole week to get used to the flow. We'll see how it goes tomorrow going full speed. She's getting half of it done in about an hour to an hour and a half right now. So in theory we should get done with a full day in 2-3 hours.

I don't think she needs full speed right now, and it's quite possible she won't need full speed for a while. So I thought we'd do this "schedule" until she turns 9 at the end of April and then re-evaluate. With doing this, even if we do end up going full speed starting in May, we'd be done sometime around T'giving, which would be a good break before the next guide :)
