Kiddos LOVE read alouds from Beyond choices!

Just wanted to encourage anyone perusing the reading choices here at HOD!

In our house, the kiddos are all sad when we finish a book and I have to promote the next week's reading to get the frowns off their faces- and I have wiggly worms here, ages 5, 7 and 10! Even our non-fiction selection, Pagoo, captured their imaginations! They loved Benjamin West and His Cat Grimalkin, Ginger Pye, A Lion to Guard Us, Sarah Whitcher's Story, A Cricket in Times Square, and others.

I was most skeptical of one of my ds7's emerging readers, Christian Liberty Nature Reader, and it was my son's FAVORITE! We have been blessed beyond our imaginations!

I so agree, brokenopen, the read alouds in Beyond are so good! We loved all of the titles you mentioned too, and the rest as well. We have read all of them now, as I've used Beyond twice with our different dc, and I have gotten the remaining titles over the years for them to free read on their own. It is so hard to find excellent living books, but Carrie has done it. Thanks so much HOD!

We love all the choices! Our Beyond read-aloud list was very different from yours, but we still had an amazing time with the books!

The emerging reader books are also great! I was just talking to a mom using another reading program and realized how blessed we are with using actual books compared to using boring old readers.

I agree! My kiddos love the Emerging Reader's too. Real books just cannot be beat, but it can be such a challenge to find the right ones.

This is what really highlights to me how much I am going to enjoy using HOD. I love sharing books with my children, but to have wonderful selections that have been chosen to accompany the work they are doing just sounds even better.
