My daughter Keri requested a switch at the beginning of this school year from Rod and Staff 6 to CLP. Well CLP started off all right, but after the first unit it became apparent that the book moves way too fast without enough explanation of concepts

Anyway, I gave her the option of dropping down an level in CLP or going back to Rod and Staff 6 and she picked Rod and Staff

I think she realized that what she didn't like about Rod and Staff before, the long explanations, is the thing that makes it so good-we had a lesson today and she seemed so happy she could understand it well

Plus, since we are doing the second half of the book, she was even happier to know grammar would be cut to two days a week

More proof that HOD's choices are really great if you give them a chance-everything is so well-thought out and planned. I wish we could go back to Singapore math, but I don't want to push it there-math is going fine right now

As for Tamara, she has had a leap of maturity and is finishing her work very quickly and well, so I added Extensions for her beginnig with Hittite Warrior-it adds just the right amount to each day for her, and she loves extra reading
