Warms My Heart!

Post by tnahid » Wed Sep 21, 2011 7:36 pm

Just this morning, my 10 year old son came in my room just to thank me for getting him his "books" that he reads... He was referring to his DITHOR boy's interest books and his history extensions. He said that next year he wanted MORE. He is already thinking about next year! LOL

Also, he was talking to a friend of his on the phone last night who called from KY. And a few days earlier I happened to tell him that his friend was also going to be reading "The Pilgrim's Progress" book (although they don't use HOD). Well, on the phone my son says, "I hear you are going to be reading the Pilgrim Progress this year. Yeah, I've got that book too." LOL :) :) :) :) A 10 year old and 9 year old, boy's boys, no less, talking to each other about books they are going to read!!! I love it! Just had to share that. Only because of the Lord and HOD!!

:D I LOVE IT!!! My 10 year old son loves books too. We are getting ready to move in about 2 weeks, so I have packed almost all of the books away and last night he begged me to untape one box so he could read. Of course I did  Who could say no to that? :P

That is so exciting!! I love to hear homeschool kids talk to each other. We have a regular park meetup on Thursdays with about thirty kids. I overheard a conversation in passing from a group of boys who were talking about Creation. :D And this is why we homeschool.
Dd 9 - Bigger Hearts.
Dd 5 - Kindergarten with various things.
Happily married to a graduated homeschooler who is intelligent and socialized. ;)

That does warm the heart - what better conversation could 2 young boys be having? The books HOD chooses are amazing. I am so thankful for that, as the choosing myself from the wide variety of books available would overwhelm me, especially as the boys get older and the books get longer. PTL your ds is loving his books in HOD, mine are too. Your ds will love next year's books in PHFHG too - they just keep up that passion for reading. How I wish I'd learned history and science this way in school! Oh well - we can live vicariously through our dc, right?!? :D

In Christ,
