CTC History Project, Unit 6

Post by annaz » Mon Sep 12, 2011 1:56 pm

Does anyone have a completed picture of this column? I get Day 1, but Day 2, I don't understand. And I'm trying to figure out how to draw on a round cylinder for Day 3.

Thanks!

we gave up on the clay recipe ...

Post by anniam » Wed Sep 14, 2011 1:12 pm

I had some Sculpey clay and I googled "sumerian cunieform cylinder" to get a better idea of what it should look like. My son is using his swiss army knife to carve in the symbols he drew out. He's looking at them in a mirror to reverse them on the cylinder. Then we will bake the clay as per the Sculpey directions.

I found the directions in the CtC guide to be very confusing. Maybe it's just me, but I need more details and maybe a picture or two.
