Narration question

Hello everyone! Last year about this time I asked this same question. So here it goes again. How do you handle narration with more than one dc? Last year I got a lot of great advice which I did use. We used counting bears of two different color and whoevers bear I pulled out of my pocket well that's who narrated that particular time. This worked great. But.....I really think that my second dd needs the practice of narrating more frequently and my oldest dd doesn't need as much practice, she really excels at this. So, any ideas? We're doing Beyond, too. My DS7 loaths narration and needs lots of practice (see the bad recipe there? ). But, an activity that seemed to help him might worked in your situation, too. It was during the Adventure genre. We were supposed to take turns narrating the chapter by tapping each other when it was the other's turn. I started, then tapped him so he could tell the next part and then he tapped my mom (she was there, too ), and so on til we had finished. He actually enjoyed it!

So, that popped in my head when I read your post. Maybe your dc could go back and forth like that. That way your oldest still gets some practice and at the same time she can help and encourage your youngest who needs more practice. And also, they both get to do it at the same time so no disagreement about who goes first or whatever. Oh, and another thought here.....it might make them dig a bit deeper trying to remember something the other didn't.

Great idea already - I just thought I'd also mention that you could use your counting bears, but "weight" the outcome by having 2 of the same color for the child you want to narrate more, and 1 for the child you want to narrate less. HTH!
