Nature Study and Nature Notebooks

Post by pjdobro » Fri Apr 18, 2008 9:07 am

I was wondering if anyone does a routine nature walk and nature notebook? If so, how do you incorporate it in your schedule and what do you do? I've been attempting to do a little of this, but I'm having difficulty figuring out exactly how to go about it. I would appreciate any tips and words of wisdom of how to incorporate this into our routine. Thanks!

I'm planning to do Bigger 4 days a week and then have "Art Fridays" here.  We are planning to spend extra time outside, do nature journaling, use another art program that has picture study, and learn about some composers. I may or may not include all of these every Friday...if it's nice, nature will get most of our time. :D 50 mph wind...we'll look for things to do inside.

Here's a thread where Carrie gave some ideas that she uses for nature study/learning to draw.

Thank you for the ideas of how to incorporate nature study and other things as well into HOD. I was hoping to add a little art picture study and drawing into our week as well. Thanks for the link to the old thread also. I figured the subject had probably come up before but I'm a novice at message boards and don't know my way around very well yet. Thanks for your help!
