Let me just say that I am NOT a crafty person at all. I actually cringe at the thought of them! My 3.5 yr old son, on the other hand, LIVES for them. We are currently on lesson 5 in LHTH, and I am ecstatic about how easy these crafts are and how they really do use stuff that you have at home. I haven't had to go out and buy anything off the wall.......and the projects are nearly effortless! My son thinks I'm a genius coming up with all these crafts....ha! Thank you, Carrie, for creating a program that's easy for the parent AND super fun for the kids and truly Christ-centered! I so look forward to what's to come!

I feel the same way about crafts, and my daughter feels the same way as your son! I wouldn't have done them if they weren't easy to prepare -- and they were! Enjoy LHTH, we have in our house!

I agree!! Even in the higher level guides (we did CTC last year), the projects were almost effortless! I love how Carrie has them broken up into bite-sized pieces that barely take any time at all, yet produce great projects!

I agree, I love how easy it is to pull projects together with simple things I already have. My first year with HOD, doing it full time with LHFHG, I always looked through my week ahead on Sunday and tried to get geared up for it. But I quit doing that a few months in and now even with Beyond I don't need to do much preparation at all! Every morning after my Quiet Time I look through the day's plan and decide when we will do our rotating box activity and if I need to switch it up any other way because of something we have going on that day. That's it!

LHTH is great, I look forward to doing it again next year!

Me too! Me too! I am so glad my dc are getting to do neat projects without me having to read ahead to prep for them. I would not get them done without HOD. My boys would wither without their hands-on projects - they love them - and they have taught them so many life skills. My oldest ds can cook and bake well already. They can put things together. They can follow a set of directions to complete a task. They can read rules for a new game and figure it out. They can paint fairly well, draw well, and build just about anything. I love how HOD's projects have developed these skills in our sons. I depend on them daily for help in our home as my dh is often gone, and their ability to help has increased tenfold with HOD! Open and go. Yes, HOD truly is, and I'm so thankful!

YES! We love this at our house as well. My kids LOVE the hands-on projects, and I love that it doesn't stress me out to include them all. I was so bad about just skipping things like that before we started with HOD, but now they're right there in the guide (and we CAN'T skip anything that's there! ), so we do them. I really like that there are fun project things included even as the kids get older, too, and that they are great at teaching the kids to follow step-by-step instructions like Julie said.

Same here We love LHTH and since it's my 3rd time doing it, it's even more exciting and fun since no I truly know how "open and go" it is. How simple and yet so effective the art, dramatic plays etc are. We love HOD, thank you Carrie for making our teaching experience such a blessing!

We switched to HOD from a unit study program and I'm amazed at how much easier this is! Before I'd plan all these fun projects out, but never get to them...now all my time is spent teaching instead of planning!
